Manchon Group joins Affidea’s European Network

Manchon Group, a highly reputable provider of advanced diagnostic imaging services in Cataluña, Spain, has joined Affidea Group, the largest European provider of diagnostic imaging, outpatient and cancer care services. 

Manchón Group is a highly reputed provider of advanced diagnostic imaging services in Cataluña region, Spain, with an important history of more than 85 years of experience in radiology in Spain. Manchón’s legacy in radiology dates back to 1934 when Barcelona’s pioneering radiologist, Dr. Fernando Manchón Azcona, installed the first radiology office in the city. The tradition continued through the next generations, with the opening in 1982 of the first diagnostic center Dr. Manchón. With the aim of continuing the vocation of providing excellence in radiology, in the 90s the third generation entered the company, represented by Dr. Pilar Manchón and Antonio Manchón.

Today, Manchón group operates nine diagnostic imaging centers - three in Barcelona, one in Sant Cugat and five additional satellite centers in Barcelona and surrounding cities. The company provides a broad range of advanced imaging examinations from MRI and Mammography with Tomosynthesis to US, DXA and Conventional Radiology, benefitting from more than 20 sub-specialties in different areas of image-based diagnosis, performing more than 120,000 scans every year.

This milestone takes Affidea Spain to 44 centres countrywide, seeing more than 500.000 patients every year and benefitting from the expertise of almost 550 dedicated health professionals, out of which around 100 professionals coming from Manchón.
