Affidea join international technologists at Radiotechnology Congress in Turkey
Affidea took part in this year’s International Attendant Radiotechnology Congress and Training Seminar in Antalya, Turkey on 21-24 April. Organized by the Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association (TMRT-Der), the Congress attracts a multitude of international technologists working in Radiology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine.
As a member of the International Society of Radiographers & Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) and the European Federation of Radiographer’s Society (EFRS), TMRT-Der's members uphold the professional standards and global vision of the international community. Mr Baris Cavli, Chairman of the Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association, said “This Congress is an opportunity for us to follow scientific and technological innovations, information exchange and social integration. All scientific studies presented in congresses, seminars and workshops are important and must be accessible to those in the field. We strongly believe these contributions will affect the vision of Radiographers and their professional motivation”.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Huseyin Ozan Tekin, Chairman of the TMRT-Der Editorial Board, presented the strategy, steps and goals of the graduate training in Medical Imaging, focusing on the importance of basic education and the continuous improvement of members of the Radiography community.
Affidea Clinical Governance Lead, Dr Nasia Papachristodoulou, presented the role of the Radiographer in the modern Diagnostic Imaging Department, highlighting the professional challenges and new possibilities they face. She also led an important separate discussion with Affidea’s Radiographers and Administration on patient safety. She said: “The enthusiasm and commitment of the Turkish Affidea Team is extraordinary, prioritising their people and remaining open to new ideas and projects. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a great team”.
The scientific contributions made by radiographers, radiologists and academics at the congress will be reviewed and published in the Special Issue of Radiology Journal of Turkish Clinics.
