Affidea expands in Greece by acquiring Athens CityMed and enforces its position in the outpatient care market
In a bid to expand its private outpatient service portfolio, Affidea announces the acquisition of Athens City Med, a reputed private dermatology provider, with two centers, one in the city center of Athens and the other one in Thessaloniki. The acquisition is another milestone of the successful business model expansion, in which Affidea broadens its core operation model based on diagnostic imaging to private outpatient care services.
Athens City Med is a reputed dermatology provider, operating on the market since 2013. The centres offer various dermatology services, including clinical dermatology, laser treatments, hair transplants, plastic surgery consultations, Coax Med (radio-US treatments), using state of the art equipment.
Through this acquisition, Affidea adds an important expertise in dermatology to its network, creating synergy with its imaging and lab divisions and bringing a new medical service to its portfolio for private patients and PHIs.

This new investment in dermatology in Greece comes after the one in 2018, when Affidea opened two dermatology departments in its Peristeri center.
KPMG assisted Affidea in relation to the acquisition as their financial advisor, while Katsikis – Kalamatianou & Co Law Firm acted as the company’s legal advisor.
