Affidea CMO message on World Cancer Day 2021
Today is World Cancer Day and we take this opportunity to raise awareness and highlight the importance of screening, early stage cancer detection and treatment which can significantly improve cancer patients’ chances of survival.
On this day, I would like to thank all our medical staff for their commitment in cancer care, for their dedication in providing every day best medical care, with professionalism and empathy for every patient.
This World Cancer Day’s theme is “I am and I will”, and it comes to remind us of the enduring power of collective action, showing that our commitment to act will lead to powerful progress for a cancer-free world.
10 million people worldwide die each year from cancer. That’s more than HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. By 2030, experts project cancer deaths to rise to 13 million, according to World Health Organisation.
But today, we know more about cancer than ever before. Continuous investment in innovation and the extraordinary breakthroughs in diagnostics and cancer treatment allow us to improve clinical outcomes and save millions of lives every year.
