Affidea, the leading European provider of diagnostic imaging, outpatient and cancer care services announces that has successfully completed the acquisition of “Vėtrungės klinika” (UAB “Kuncų ambulatorinė klinika”)– a private healthcare clinic in Klaipėda, which has two branches.

UAB „Kuncų ambulatorinė klinika” has more than 20 years of experience in personal heath care and provides a wide range of medical services – GP’s and specialists consultations, small outpatient surgeries as well as rehabilitation and physiotherapy services. „Kuncų ambulatorinė klinika” has two branches in Klaipėda and is better known as „Vėtrungės klinika”.

With this milestone, Affidea becomes one of the largest private health care provider in Lithuania, with 26 centers across the country, serving over 272.000 patients per year and working with more than 570 professionals, 50 of them coming from „Vėtrungės klinika”.

Commenting on Affidea’s recent investment, Giuseppe Recchi, Affidea CEO, said, that this acquisition fits perfectly with the company’s strategy of growth to develop a portfolio of outpatient services, while building upon a complementary geographic footprint. “With each acquisition we look for a proposition that adds value to our patients, providing high quality medical care, as well the ability to integrate with our current medical services. Adding Vėtrungės klinika to our network will result in best-in-class access to a wider rage of medical services which will enable us to serve patients, doctors and health systems on a much more integrated level. Affidea’s network has now 280 centres in Europe. We will continue to look for opportunities throughout Europe to further expand, driven by ambitious plans of growth”, stated Giuseppe Recchi.

Vitalijus Orlovas, Country Manager Affidea Lithuania, commented that the acquisition will contribute to the improvement of the country‘s healthcare system and increase the availability of medical services for patients in the Western part of the country. „We have been working for more than a decade in Lithuania to ensure that our patients receive medical services at the highest European standards. This new investment significantly improves our position in Lithuania, especially in the Western region of the country. „Vėtrungės klinika“ complements very well Affidea’s geographical presence in the west of Lithuania, thus further strengthening our ability to provide clients with services closer to their home. Going forward as a single company, our continued priority will remain to provide high quality medical services that focus on the needs of our physicians, our staff, and our patients“ – says. Vitalijus Orlovas.

„Over the past three years, „Vėtrungės klinika“ has gained an important role and earned a good reputation in Klaipeda and surrounding regions.
